Compensation: £14.32-£19.16 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform brazing tasks to join, seal, or repair metal components using tools such as torches, flux, and other specialized equipment while following safety regulations.
- Analyze blueprints, work orders, and specifications to identify project requirements.
- Prepare metal components for brazing by cleaning and inspecting surfaces for assembly.
- Operate and maintain brazing tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and maintain high standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during brazing processes with problem-solving expertise.
- Work collaboratively within a team to meet production goals and address challenges.
- Maintain a tidy, efficient, and safe workspace in line with company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with brazing techniques and operation of brazing equipment.
- Knowledge of various metals and alloys and their brazing compatibility.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- High attention to detail with the ability to complete intricate and precise tasks.
- Solid problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Physical capability to handle tools and materials for prolonged work periods.
- Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in brazing or welding (preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g., OSHA) will be advantageous.
Day-to-Day
- Review job assignments and prepare all required tools and materials for your shift.
- Set up, operate, and monitor brazing equipment, such as torches and furnaces.
- Accurately and efficiently perform brazing tasks while adhering to quality standards.
- Inspect finished brazed components to ensure precision and quality, modifying as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to solve issues, share progress updates, and meet production targets.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols to protect yourself and your teammates.
- Actively contribute to continuous process improvement discussions and initiatives.
- Maintain and clean your workstation and equipment at the end of the day.
Working Hours
Shift times: 7.30am - 4.30pm
