Overview
Our client is looking for a responsible, motivated, and safety-conscious Class 2 Driver to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys delivering excellent service. Please note that handballing is involved in this role, with early starts required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle in compliance with all road safety and legal regulations.
- Complete multi-drop deliveries to customers in an efficient and professional manner.
- Use electric pallet trucks to assist with handballing deliveries at various locations.
- Conduct pre- and post-delivery vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service, acting as a professional representative of the company at all times.
- Plan routes effectively to maximise productivity while meeting delivery schedules.
- Manage and secure cargo to avoid damage during transit.
- Ensure delivery documentation is accurately completed and submitted on time.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
- Up-to-date Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification and valid tachograph card.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Class 2 role.
- Previous experience in multi-drop delivery or similar logistics/transportation roles preferred.
- Ability to safely operate an electric pallet truck and handle heavy loads confidently, including handballing goods.
- Excellent knowledge of road safety practices and local transport laws.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Problem-solving ability, initiative, and a proactive approach.
Day-to-Day
- Begin with vehicle safety checks to meet regulations before heading out for scheduled deliveries.
- Plan your delivery route efficiently while maintaining focus on safety and time management.
- Deliver goods to multiple drop locations, utilizing provided electric pallet trucks when necessary and handballing goods as needed to unload cargo.
- Interact courteously and professionally with customers at each delivery stop, addressing any concerns or questions.
- Maintain accurate and complete delivery logs, including any incidents or vehicle issues.
- Communicate frequently with the dispatch team to report status updates and resolve logistical challenges.
- Conclude the day by conducting post-delivery vehicle inspections and ensuring the vehicle is cleaned and stocked for the next shift.
