About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CNC Operator specializing in timber-based manufacturing processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC router/milling machinery and a thorough understanding of timber materials. You will focus on producing high-quality doors and related products while maintaining best practices in safety, efficiency, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and functional.
- Manufacture doors to a consistently high standard, meeting production specifications.
- Communicate any production issues or concerns to the Production Manager or Line Supervisor promptly.
- Ensure the CNC machine is stocked with necessary supplies for uninterrupted machining operations.
- Be flexible with overtime requirements to meet customer demands.
- Assemble door sets accurately and efficiently.
- Operate relevant equipment safely, adhering to company and industry standards.
- Manufacture products to exact specifications within designated timeframes.
- Maintain good housekeeping and uphold effective manufacturing practices in the workspace.
- Carry out any reasonable production-related requests as instructed by the Line Supervisor.
- Support colleagues as needed to account for holidays or unexpected absences.
- Follow and comply with Health and Safety at Work regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work in alignment with the company's quality assurance system.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Proven experience in operating CNC router/milling machinery, preferably in a timber or woodworking environment.
- Strong understanding of timber materials and their properties.
- 5 GCSE Grade C or above including Maths and English
- Understanding of CNC machinery
- FLT Counterbalance licence would be beneficial
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable; experience in a timber/door production/engineering environment would be beneficial
- Capable of reading and interpreting worksheets and basic technical drawings
- Understanding of health and safety within the workplace
