The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. They will assist the Director in the development and implementation of compliance programs, conduct audits and assessments, and work with relevant departments to provide guidance and training to staff on compliance matters. Compliance activities will include working within Operational/Recruitment, Human Resources, Payroll, Marketing, and IT.
The role:
Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures and programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and business and industry standards.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs and identify areas for improvement.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations and update compliance programs accordingly.
Liaise with the other departments to provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters.
Investigate and resolve compliance issues, including breaches of policies or regulations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Operational departments, HR, Training, payroll, IT and Marketing to ensure alignment of compliance efforts across the organization.
Serve as a point of contact for external regulatory authorities and auditors, coordinating responses to inquiries and inspections.
Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations.
Act as Data Protection Officer for the organization.
