Job Title: Counterbalance Driver/Yard Operator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Counterbalance Driver/Yard Operator to join our dynamic and inclusive team. Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift to safely and efficiently load, unload, and transport stock.
• Move stock and materials within the yard or warehouse, ensuring accurate placement and storage.
• Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard and work area.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
• Assist with general yard duties, including organizing stock, minor maintenance, and maintaining equipment in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, other team members, and drivers to ensure smooth yard and logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Valid and up-to-date counterbalance forklift license or certification.
• Proven experience in operating a forklift and handling large or heavy goods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy with stock movement and placement.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Previous experience in a yard or logistics role is preferred but not mandatory.

Day-to-Day

• Start each day by conducting a pre-shift safety check on the forklift and other necessary equipment.
• Load and unload stock from delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the yard is organized and stocked appropriately for upcoming deliveries or collections.
• Move goods and materials between storage areas or prepare shipments for delivery.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to prioritize and complete tasks effectively.
• Monitor the yard and equipment for potential hazards or issues, addressing them promptly.
• Assist with additional tasks as required to ensure smooth operations.

Shift Patter

• Monday to Friday 7:00-17:00
