AM2PM are seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Production Operative to join our leading clients team in Wrexham. This is an essential role where you will be responsible for ensuring the humane processing of livestock while maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and quality. As a Slaughtering Operative, you will be part of a key department, working in an inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Carry out the humane handling, slaughtering, and processing of livestock in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, food hygiene regulations, and animal welfare guidelines.
Operate and maintain processing equipment with care and precision, reporting any malfunctions.
Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets without compromising quality or safety.
Inspect meat products to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.
Follow ethical and humane practices throughout all stages of the process.
Provide support for inventory management and report any product discrepancies or waste.
Shifts will vary. £12.21phr +
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within the meat production or food processing industry is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and working in cold or warm conditions.
Knowledge of animal welfare, food safety, and hygiene practices (training will be provided).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict guidelines and procedures.
Team-oriented and excellent communication skills; ability to work efficiently with others.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet operational requirements.

Day-to-Day
Begin the day by attending a safety and process briefing with colleagues and supervisors.
Handle livestock with care, ensuring comfort and adherence to welfare guidelines.
Utilize and maintain specialized equipment, working in coordination with your team.
Conduct inspections to ensure product quality and compliance.
Execute the slaughtering process efficiently and humanely.
Assist in cleaning and sterilizing equipment and work areas to uphold health and safety standards.
Report production status and provide feedback to supervisors regarding processes or improvements
Maintain professional communication and foster a collaborative, inclusive work atmosphere.
