Job Description: Joiner Foreman 

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Foreman with a strong background in joinery to supervise and manage works on-site in Coatbridge. The role is ideally suited for someone who possesses a proven track record in joinery, has their SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification, and is passionate about leading site operations to deliver high-quality results. This position is for an initial term of three weeks, starting Monday, January 12th, with the potential for future opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee all site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring their safety and encouraging collaboration.
  • Effectively plan, organize, and prioritize resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Inspect and measure joinery work to ensure quality standards are upheld.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations on-site, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers, as required.
  • Keep daily site records, monitor progress, and provide updates to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in joinery, with hands-on experience.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential.
  • Possession of a 3-day First Aid Course certification.
  • Experience supervising and managing site operations.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Day-to-day

  • Start the day at 8:00 AM and supervise site activities until 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday. Early finish on Fridays.
  • Oversee all joinery works and site progress to ensure quality and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Act as the key point of contact for site matters, ensuring both workers and subcontractors are aligned on project goals.
  • Proactively resolve challenges that may arise on-site, maintaining a focus on health, safety, and quality.
  • Conduct safety briefings or toolbox talks with team members to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Measure and sign-off completed work, ensuring it aligns with agreed standards.

Contract Terms:

  • Location: Coatbridge.
  • Duration: Minimum of 3 weeks (with potential for extension).
  • Pay: £22 -£23 per hour

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 AM - 16:30 PM (early finish Friday).
