AM2PM Recruitment is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a FLT Counterbalance Driver/Junior Operator to join our client, a prominent leader in the metals recycling industry, located in Willenhall. This full-time role comes with a day shift schedule (5:30 AM - 5:30 PM, working 4 days on/4 days off) and competitive pay at £12.85 per hour. For the right candidate, there is the potential for the position to transition into a permanent role.


Responsibilities

As a Junior Operator/FLT Counterbalance Driver, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Forklift Operations: Utilize Counterbalance FLT to safely move, load, and transport materials.
  • Material Handling: Sort and process scrap materials in adherence to company standards and procedures.
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of containers to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all workplace safety regulations, company policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Support operational teams to achieve production goals and maintain efficient workflow.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Licenses & Certification: Valid FLT Counterbalance B1 License is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a recycling or metals sorting environment is advantageous but not mandatory as on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and process materials accurately and efficiently.
  • Work Ethic: Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Physical Fitness: Comfortable with the physical demands of operating machinery and working in an industrial setting.

Day-to-Day

A typical day in the role includes:

  • Conducting a pre-shift safety check of the forklift and reporting any issues.
  • Safely operating the counterbalance forklift for 50% of the shift.
  • Sorting scrap materials and preparing them for recycling or transport.
  • Collaborating with team members to meet production needs.
  • Ensuring equipment and workspace are clean and operating efficiently at the end of the shift.
