Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Machine Operator with expertise in turning steel coils into high-quality tubes to join their dynamic team. As a Machine Operator, you will play a pivotal role in operating, maintaining, and ensuring the efficiency of tube-forming machinery within the manufacturing process. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on work, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in producing quality tubular products.

Responsibilities

The Machine Operator will be responsible for:

  • Setting up, adjusting, and safely operating machinery to transform steel coils into tubes.
  • Monitoring and ensuring machinery runs efficiently while meeting production and quality standards.
  • Inspecting finished tubular products to ensure they adhere to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines, including using PPE and promoting a culture of workplace safety.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience operating machinery in a tube or metal fabrication environment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills, particularly for calibrating equipment or verifying tube dimensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality tubular products.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, and work in a production environment.

Day-to-day

As a Machine Operator, your daily activities may include:

  • Conducting pre-operation checks to ensure tube-forming machinery is properly set up and ready for use.
  • Monitoring and adjusting machine settings to optimise tube production.
  • Communicating with team members and supervisors to address operational updates, challenges, or necessary maintenance.
  • Performing end-of-shift cleaning, reporting, and equipment inspection to maintain machine readiness.
