Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Operatives to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Hull based client. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating high-quality products, skilled in assembly and fabrication processes, and eager to contribute to a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Friday)
Pay rate: £12.21 per hour (can rise depending on work performance)
Contract type: Temporary to Permanent

Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Operative, you will:

  • Perform accurate assembly work according to specifications and diagrams.
  • Execute laminating tasks and processes, ensuring a high level of consistency and quality.
  • Work with GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) materials to fabricate components and complete production requirements.
  • Safely and proficiently use a variety of hand tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
  • Carry out polishing and finishing work to meet quality standards.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines, adhering to best practices at all times.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate effectively with your team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deliverables.
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Prior experience in assembly and laminating, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with GRP materials an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete polishing tasks with precision to prepare the finished product for delivery.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality control standards.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • The flexibility to adapt to different tasks and production schedules as required in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills (Optional):

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • A good keen work attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
