AM2PM Hull are looking for a skilled Press Brake Operator to join their clients manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press brake machinery to fabricate sheet metal components. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established business that is going through an exciting period of growth. The position will be offered on a temp to perm basis.
Shifts Available:
Day Shifts - 7am-4.30pm
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot our press brake machines with training, for the fabrication of metal components.
- Interpret technical drawings, and job instructions to determine product specifications.
- Program and adjust press brake machine settings (e.g., bend angles, material thickness, back gauge settings).
- Conduct regular quality checks using angle finders, callipers, micrometres, and other measurement tools to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Identify and resolve bending issues to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor and maintain accuracy during production to ensure consistent product quality.
- Perform routine pre-use maintenance and cleaning of the press brake machine and associated tools.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company values, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
- Record production data, including quantities, dimensions, and materials used.
- Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance and inspections
Requirements:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating press brake machines/ guillotine in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexible can-do attitude
- Able to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and always focuses on quality.
- Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required to support business needs.
