Hourly Rate: £12.21 - £12.78 (with enhanced overtime rates)
Shifts: Monday to Friday | 06:00 - 14:30 or 14:00 - 22:30
Overview
We are recruiting for the UK's leading supplier of rope-grown mussels and cultivated Pacific oysters, proudly farmed in the pristine seas of the West Coast of Scotland and the Shetland Isles.
As a farmer-owned co-operative, our members take pride in every step of production, ensuring the highest quality standards and a strong commitment to sustainability. Due to our ongoing success, we are expanding our team and looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Production Operatives at our modern facility in Bellshill.

Responsibilities
As a Production Operative, you will:
- Perform production line tasks as directed by supervisors and key workers.
- Understand product specifications, processing methods, and production targets to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain top-quality standards, cleanliness, and accuracy in product handling.
- Follow company policies on hygiene, dress code, and health & safety.
- Support compliance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and COSHH regulations.
- Participate in training and development programs to continuously enhance your skills.
- Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices, including "Clean as You Go" and good workplace housekeeping.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture with a professional and flexible attitude.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- A strong willingness to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative, fast-paced production team.
- Commitment to upholding strict food hygiene, quality, and health & safety standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environments.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Access to reliable personal transport (although the site is accessible by public transport).
Day-to-Day
- Operate various tasks on the production line to meet daily targets and customer demand.
- Ensure cleanliness of the workspace by adhering strictly to hygiene and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage in training sessions to continually upgrade skills.
- Participate in quality control measures to maintain product standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: £12.21 - £12.78 (depending on experience and role allocation).
- Enhanced Overtime Rates (after 38.35 hours):
- Monday to Saturday: 1.5x rate.
- Sunday: 2x rate.
