We are proud to be representing our client, a leading steel tube manufacturer with their search for a Quality Technician to join their team.

The Quality Technician supports, maintains, and continually improves the effectiveness of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System across two UK sites. The role requires strong shop floor presence, working closely with mill operators and production teams to ensure product quality, drive standards, and resolve issues effectively.

 

The Role -

  • Maintain and support the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Carry out daily quality control activities and inspections on the shop floor.
  • Ensure manufactured products meet required specifications and customer standards.
  • Work closely with production teams on the mill to address quality concerns and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Investigate, manage, and close out internal and external nonconformities.
  • Determine, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and monitor the performance and quality of raw material supply.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues professionally and promptly.
  • Identify and manage quality-related business risks.
  • Support and manage change control processes within the business.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
  • Perform inspection, testing, and verification duties as required.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and support KPIs related to quality performance.

The person -

  • Sound working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • A systems-based approach to quality management.
  • Customer focus.
  • 8-D Problem solving and other quality tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current driving licence require.
  • SAP knowledge/experience (desirable)
  • Customer liaison skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Continual improvement in products processes
