The Company

We are proud to be representing our client, a leader within the packaging industry, with their recruitment for a Shift Setter.

The role

In this role, you'll be part of a collaborative setting team, responsible for tool changes in line with production schedules and site procedures. You'll play a key role in achieving company production targets by ensuring machines are set correctly, running smoothly, and producing quality parts.

You will work closely with various departments to ensure production priorities are met, issues are resolved quickly, and operational excellence is always upheld.

  • Perform basic first-line maintenance of mould tools (as per agreed levels).
  • Understand and execute manufacturing plans, ensuring machines are correctly set to specifications.
  • Complete and document all required safety checks on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Safely install mould tools and set machines to produce products to required specification and quality standards.
  • Verify correct materials and stock are used during the production process.
  • Maintain clean, organised workspaces and ensure tools are stored correctly.
  • Monitor product quality against customer specifications; take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure all manufacturing documents, machine operations, and labelling meet requirements.
  • Provide technical support to production and act as a knowledge resource for the team.
  • Promote efficient, effective work practices across the department.
  • Address material or product-related queries, escalating issues as needed.
  • Communicate any technical issues affecting production with the team.
  • Support operators in optimising performance and adhering to best manufacturing practices.

The Person

  • A professional qualification in Injection Moulding and Automated Systems.
  • Strong understanding of general manufacturing practices.
  • Broad technical knowledge of injection moulding machine operations in a production environment.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
