About the Role

Van Driver - Commercial products - Lutterworth and surrounding areas  £28,000 pa

Plus bonuses, Van provided, Fuel Card, 20 days + BH’s rising to 25 in service.

Workwear provided.

Qualifications & experience required 

Understanding of current commercial transport legislation.

Experience of working in a professional logistics department.

Digital tachograph.

The Role 

This is a critical role as  you will be the face and contact with the customer, ensuring collection and delivery  on time. Handling data in terms of accurately recording information of customer deliveries,  uploading information onto the WMS.

Ensuring that the company comply with the road transport legislation and providing a highest quality service as the  company's "Service Ambassador" with  customers.

Delivering and collecting to and from the branch to customers and  accurately recording  each customer delivery and collection via PDA devise or route manifest

Ensuring  the security and safety of any vehicle or property or customer property and safety of any third party, whilst you are in control of an vehicle. Complying with and adhering  to any reasonable operating conditions existing on customers' premises. Understand the scheduled delivery routes that you have been allocated, load and unload cages from vehicles that contain both clean and soiled linen inc hamper bags.

Always wear the correct and clean uniform as appropriate and behave in a professional manner and be  honest, polite and helpful at all times. 

Execute daily and weekly vehicle checks and cleaning routines and  record and report customer queries using the  correct documentation as well as undertaking  other duties when instructed by the Transport/ Operations Manager/Supervisor. 

Complying  with driving performance systems and attend daily driver debrief sessions and update on any customer changes or opportunities.

The Person 

You will hold an up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) hold a current drivers licence with no more than 6 points , You will be  highly customer focused and  have a good attention to detail, demonstrate  excellent organisational skills and have the  ability to make decisions and problem solve.

You will be flexible and be  able to react quickly to the needs of the customer. Be PC literacy for emails, spreadsheets and date bases. and be well spoken; clarity of speech, friendliness of tone, articulate and be patient, polite and courteous.
