AM2PM are currently recruiting for a client in the Wednesbury area, we are looking for an experienced van driver to join our clients leading manufacturing company.
Your job duties:
Safely operate company vans to transport goods and deliveries to designated locations in a timely manner.
Load, unload, and inspect goods, ensuring they are handled with care and delivered in excellent condition.
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and any necessary paperwork.
Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and management to address delivery-related concerns or inquiries.
Perform regular vehicle checks and report any maintenance needs or issues.
Comply with safety procedures to ensure the security of cargo and the safety of others on the road.
Actively uphold our company's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion while interacting with various individuals in different settings.
Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm
What you need:
Valid FULL UK Driver's license with a clean driving record
Proven experience as a driver, preferably with experience in driving vans or larger vehicles.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS technology and route planning.
Physically fit and able to lift and carry items of varying weights.
Strong communication and customer service skills; able to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
Good organizational skills and commitment to punctuality.
Your day to day:
Begin each day with a vehicle safety inspection to ensure roadworthiness.
Receive route information and load the van with goods carefully and efficiently.
Drive to scheduled destinations, ensuring both safety and timeliness.
Interact politely with customers and clients during pickups or drop-offs, addressing any concerns in a professional manner.
Update delivery logs and communicate with the dispatch team as required for any route changes.
Return the vehicle at the end of the day, report any mechanical concerns, and refuel if necessary.
