Job Description: VNA Driver

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled VNA/FLT/PPT Driver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating a range of industrial trucks, including PPTs, Counterbalance Forklifts, and VNA forklifts, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods in our facility. Pay rate ranging between £13.50 - £14.70 p/h dependant on Shift and Experience.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 11am till 7pm.


Responsibilities

  • Safely operate PPT (Powered Pallet Truck), Counterbalance forklift, and VNA (Very Narrow Aisle forklift) to transport, stack, and organize goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Conduct daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and immediate reporting of any malfunctions.
  • Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring goods are placed in the designated areas and safely handled.
  • Accurately record and manage inventory levels, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
  • Follow health & safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining an orderly warehouse environment, ensuring that safety standards are met consistently.
  • Liaise with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and resolve logistical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a PPT, Counterbalance Forklift, and/or VNA Forklift driver.
  • Valid certifications or licenses for PPT, FLT (Forklift Truck), and VNA Forklift.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, health, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing priorities.

Day-to-Day

  • Operate forklifts and pallet trucks to load, unload, and transport goods safely.
  • Perform inspections of forklifts and ensure they are in safe working condition.
  • Stay updated on and adhere to health & safety protocols while operating machinery.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and ensure goods are stored in the correct locations.
  • Support warehouse organization by keeping the workspace tidy and orderly.
  • Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor daily targets and contribute to achieving team goals.
  • Identify potential operational improvements and escalate concerns when necessary.
