Position Details
- Pay Rate: £14.75 per hour
- Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday
- Overtime: Available on Friday and Saturday
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of materials with precision and safety.
- Read, analyse, and interpret blueprints, work orders, and drawings to ensure fabrication accuracy.
- Assemble, fabricate, and repair metal parts and components using a variety of processes, tools, and machinery.
- Inspect welds to guarantee they meet company and industry quality standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and encourage a culture of safety awareness.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement processes within the fabrication team.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to measure, cut, and shape metal accurately to specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
- Certification or completion of a recognized welding program.
- Familiarity with diverse fabrication techniques and experience with other welding methods (e.g., TIG, stick welding).
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Day-to-day
- Begin your day by reviewing blueprints and work orders to plan your tasks.
- Set up welding equipment and perform safety checks.
- Carry out MIG welding and assembly processes to fabricate parts and components.
- Conduct inspections on completed work, ensuring weld quality and dimensional accuracy align with specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address production challenges.
- At the end of the shift, perform maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and the workspace.
