Job Description: Window Fitter

£14.00 + per hour

Overview

AM2PM are recruiting on behalf of our client who have a site based in Driffield and are seeking a skilled and motivated Window Fitters with expertise in aluminum window installation and fabrication to join their growing team. The selected candidate should have experience working with aluminum windows, doors, and curtain walling.

Please note: Due to the location of this position, own transport is required.

Working Hours: 7:30am until 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Hourly Rate: Paying upwards of £14.00 per hour DOE

Responsibilities

• Install and fit aluminum windows, doors, and glazing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
• Fabricate and assemble aluminum window and door frames to required standards.
• Conduct accurate measurements and ensure installations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Perform repairs and replacements of glazing systems as required.
• Work closely with team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to a high standard.
• Address customer concerns professionally and ensure client satisfaction.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in safe working order.
• Adhere to both company policies and industry-specific building codes and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fitting and/or fabricating aluminum windows, doors, and glazing systems.
• Strong knowledge of aluminum materials and related techniques.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients and teams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different work locations as needed.
• Own transport due to the location.
• IPAF Card certification.
• CSCS certification.
• Working at Heights qualification.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines in the construction or glazing industry.
• Certificates in fabrication, construction, or glazing would be an added advantage (but not essential).

Day-to-day

• Measure, fit, and install aluminum windows, doors, and glazing systems on-site with precision.
• Utilize fabrication techniques to customize aluminum frames to meet specific project needs.
• Liaise with supervisors, architects, and clients to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Conduct routine quality checks on completed installations to maintain the company's high standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during or after the installation process.
• Ensure proper inventory of tools, materials, and safety equipment is maintained for daily tasks.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to deliver successful project outcomes.
