The Role
The purpose of this role is to manage and implement quality assurance and control systems ensuring the correct execution of products and to exceed customer satisfaction every time.
⦁ Effectively manage production output by coordinating departments and minimizing waste, including machine time, labour, and scrap. Utilize the system to ensure accurate data input and implementation of necessary actions.
⦁ Ensure allocated labour is efficiently utilised to maintain product quality and timely production. Monitor KPIs provided by Finance regarding labour costs versus sales on a weekly basis. Take ownership of improving labour utilization and propose necessary support or expenditure adjustments to reduce costs.
⦁ Oversee the quality of products produced within your area, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by operators. Maintain a current Skills Matrix and provide ongoing training for operators. Promptly escalate any potential quality risks to your line manager.
⦁ Monitor PPM figures and take corrective actions to prevent issues from progressing through the production process.
⦁ Foster daily communication with all employees at the start of each shift to gather feedback on previous day’s performance and address any highlighted issues, including health and safety (H&S) and quality concerns. Manage staff performance issues in accordance with HR procedures.
⦁ Identify and review jobs that contribute to lost revenue due to quality issues, manufacturing inefficiencies, or waste. Implement improvements to mitigate costs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
⦁ Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated areas, aligning with 5S principles. Implement a robust system for daily review and audit compliance to demonstrate continual adherence to housekeeping standards, as conducted by the Directors.
The Person
You will have a min of 5 years’ experience gained from a career in plastic injection mouldings and paint processes preferably gained within an automotive supplier. You must demonstrate strong leadership qualities to guide teams effectively. Have excellent communication skills, be able to remain calm under pressure, have a strong work ethic and be professional and have a positive attitude. Problem solving abilities and delegation skills are essential for efficient task management.
